"The other problem is social media is a terrible platform for building a community.

On Facebook you have to pay to reach your own fans. Only a few dozen Facebook fan pages have an active community (participants regularly interacting with each other).

On Twitter, the only people that see your tweets are those that happen to be active on Twitter and looking at the stream at that particular moment."
